Shoot for Hong Kong

In November 2015 I participated in the photographic runs with the camera atilt. Contest was organized by Canon as "Canon Photomarathon - Shoot For Hong Kong" and had already set up for 7 consecutive years.

There were two categories: Challenge and Open, and 1,300 participants in each one. I participated in Open category.

That was a truly contest of street photography with following themes: Desicive Moment, Perspective/Transparent, City in Challenge, and Collective Memory, Balance/Equilibrium in Open category.

In open category we had around 5 hours to take two shots according to the themes. Canon applied tough restrictions of submitting the shots. We had to choose only two shots for contest and only two photographs can remain on the memory card of the camera when submitting.

Here you can see two of my photographs, which were submitted accordingly the themes in Open category: Collecitve Memory and Balance/Equilibrium.

Photographs aren't edited by any means, they are the files produced directly by the camera at the time of shooting - this was another restriction from contest organizers. That is why the files are pretty big.

What is your opinion on these shots? (Your comments are highly appreciated on our Facebook page or Facebook group).

Emerald Buddha

Emerald Buddha

The Emerald Buddha is not from emerald as you may thought from its name. It is actually carved from green jade. This statue was found in 1434 in Chiengrai, Northern Thailand after the lightning strucked a worship place. Firstly the Buddha statue was covered with stucco, lately it was discovered that there is a jade under the layer of stucco.
