How I Have Met "Russian KGB agent Ivan Schischkin" in Hong Kong

On March, 2015 I had the good luck to meet Russian movie actors, directors and producers. They came to Hong Kong to support Russian Movie Week and to see our remarkable city.

When we were on Lugard Road near the absolutely stunning spot for photography of Hong Kong I accidentally was asked to take photograph of the company.

On the first photograph you could see only guests (from left to right, from bottom to top):

1. Alla Sterzhakova

2. Vladimir Sterzhakov (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0828046)

3. Maria Smolnikova (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm5176076)

4. Yulia Bragina, Producer

5. Mikhail Gorevoy (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0330853)

6. Pavel Derevyanko (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1125711)

7. Artyom Tkachenko (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1588798)

8. Evgeny Abyzov (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm4622421)

On the second photograph you can see me on the right side. I'm controlling the camera via mobile phone and extremely concentrated ))

Most of these actors are not widely known outside Russia, except Mikhail Gorevoy (http://www.kinopoisk.ru/name/36559/ - only in Russian). You may see him in recent Steven Spielberg's "Bridge of Spies" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt3682448/) depicting Russian KGB agent Ivan Schischkin. He also was an actor in James Bond - Die Another Day. He has over 200 roles in Russian movies as well.

Accidental photography is very difficult for achieving good results, especially in this case where I want to photograph the company on the Hong Kong skyline background. This spot on Lugard road is covered by harsh yellow street light. Moreover I had to take photograph very fast, due to late time, considering incredible light conditions, and using built-in flash in slow mode to make background visible, without movement artifacts due to used long exposure shot.

After visiting The Peak I guided them to Tsim Sha Tsui Peking Garden restaurant to enjoy Peking Duck (in my mind - one of the best in the city).

Sincerely Yours,

Leo Zank - ringsfoto.com

Emerald Buddha

The Emerald Buddha is not from emerald as you may thought from its name. It is actually carved from green jade. This statue was found in 1434 in Chiengrai, Northern Thailand after the lightning strucked a worship place. Firstly the Buddha statue was covered with stucco, lately it was discovered that there is a jade under the layer of stucco.
